Hello, my loves.

Just wanted to keep you in the loop as to what’s going on with me on the recording front.

The songs are chosen, the players are lined up, the space has been selected….so now what?

Well, the truth of the matter is I’m busy. Very busy. Between playing and work and life, I’m strapped for time.  I’m stuck in such a classic catch 22, it’s not even funny.  Gigging has me out 5-6 times a week. Day job has me hustling every possible second I’m not heading to or playing a gig…and I need to make time for my number one priority which is my family.  I looked at my calendar and it seems that things will really start to slow down come January.  The recording process takes time. It’s not as simple as you’d think to cram an hour in here or there.  I think if I really dedicate 3-4 days to shutting down my phone, blocking the time off with single-minded focus, I can get the tracking done. Once all tracks are down, I can then mix down an hour here or there between life’s demands.  But capturing the right performance on tape is crucial…and that takes uninterrupted time.

Right now, I feel like the pause button has been pressed on the advancement in musical life/career.   I’m on pause.   I can’t really do anything more than I’m doing right now without a current recording. I’m playing out more than ever, building a nice steady fan base of friends whom I love to death…I’m even getting gigs that, in theory, I shouldn’t be getting without “a record I’m promoting”. I hate limbo.  So for now, I just keep chugging along….and if things go according to plan, the beginning of 2015 will bring forth a new collection of recorded material I’ve been dying to produce and share with you.  That will be my vehicle to realize the rest of my ultimate plan.  And that plan is to advance myself into the next level of musical performance. I want to play in front of larger audiences…in other parts of the country and the world. This is the goal. I can’t wait for you to come along with me. I love you.
